For this project I had a couple of goals in mind, I wanted my daughter to practice emotions and so I took her out and did a photo shoot where we tried multiple emotional states. I felt that I could elicit a strong response with this picture so I chose it to create some drama. The image was originally very bright so I used some of the adjustments to get the coloring to feel more gloomy by pulling out some yellow and adding blue. I created the shadows to help surround her and make her feel like she was truly alone, I wanted the shadows to follow her outline in the broader sense and also outline the poem making everything feel like a natural flow. The colors I used for the top and bottom wording I pulled from the concert to give a crushing feeling to the image.
I had a fun time taking the picture but working on this image and putting a melancholy feel to it was hard knowing that my daughter is never like that, but that is what made creating this so enjoyable. To be able to create something that was originally not there and push the emotion I want through was fun to try.
